Calcium Fizz - Peach
Extremely well-absorbed ionic fizzing calcium powder,
with a delicious natural peach flavor.
* As of October, 2007, Sweet Dreams Calcium Fizz is now sweeter tasting
(less tart). Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is now used in it instead of vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol), and it no longer contains tartaric acid.
Calcium is critical for bone and tooth development. In addition to its function in
building and maintaining bones and teeth, calcium is also important in the body's enzyme activity. Many functions of the body depend on calcium, including the release of neurotransmitters, cell membrane permeability, muscle contraction, heart regulation and blood clotting. Calcium also helps to maintain a proper pH balance in the body and aids in detoxification.
Sweet Dreams Calcium Fizz provides calcium in its most easily absorbed ionic form.
Calcium must be ionized by hydrochloric acid in the stomach to be absorbed by the body. Many children on the Spectrum have low hydrochloric acid levels and difficulties absorbing calcium. Ionization is a major issue with calcium carbonate and many other forms of calcium supplementation. A small amount of magnesium is included in Sweet Dreams Calcium Fizz, for optimal calcium absorption. Calcium is very calming taken at bedtime, and will absorb very well during the body's sleep cycle.
Calcium blocks the absorption of magnesium and other minerals if given at the same
time. Please give plenty of magnesium and other mineral supplementation, at a different time of day from Sweet Dreams Calcium Fizz.
SUGGESTED USAGE: 1 3/4 scoops at bedtime, separate from other supplements, in a
tall glass with 6 oz warm juice or water. Add one scoop at a time, stirring. Allow ionization (fizzing) to settle after each scoop. |
