Glutathione (GSH) is a short string of amino acids called a peptide. It is composed
of three amino acids: glycine, glutamine and cysteine. It is one of the main antioxidants in the cell and is considered a "key antioxidant" in the function of cells. According to research by Jill James, the large majority of children on the autistic spectrum present with low glutathione in their blood plasma.
The functions of glutathione include:
· Protects cells against free radicals
· Removes toxins such as heavy metals
· Enhances immune function
· Regulates protein and DNA growth
Lipoceutical Glutathione is a liposomal glutathione supplement in liquid form.
Glutathione is not well absorbed when taken by itself. It is a highly reactive substance. In LipoCeutical Glutathione, the glutathione is contained in tiny nanosize spheres called liposomes. Liposomes are tiny liquid bubbles made from essential phospholipids. Studies in humans have shown that the absorption of phospholipids is higher than 90%.
