All types of plastic, even
polycarbonate, have safety
issues. For our sensitive
families, stainless steel and
glass are the only truly safe
drinking surfaces. These
great stainless drinking
bottles are a terrific way to
have really safe drinks, to go!

An adult size safe stainless
steel water bottle, from Kleen
Kanteen.

A great way to keep safe
drinking water and other
beverages handy. To
minimize toxic substances in
your food and drinks, store
everything in glass rather
than plastic whenever
possible.

This is the water filter on our
sink at home. It's easy to
install and use on your sink
faucet. The filter sits on the
counter next to the sink. You
just pull a little pin on the
nozzle to make the water go
through the filter instead of
the faucet. I studied the
documentation and felt safe
drinking this water. You can
read all the details at

This bath ball can help
remove the chlorine from
your bath water. If you can't
afford a whole-house reverse
osmosis system, drinking
water and bath/shower
water are the areas to
concentrate on.

This filter fits on your

and doesn't even affect your
water pressure!

We're all concerned about
lead and toxins in our homes
these days. According to
Consumer Reports, this
brand and Lead Chek are the
two most effective ones for
finding lead on surfaces
around the house.

Some of the best nontoxic
stuff is right in your grocery
store. Bon Ami is much less
nasty to the environment
than other cleansers, and is
gentle on your porcelain, too.
Can be used to get water
stains off of dishes, and clean
burns off of your cooking
pots. Turns out mom was
right on this one!

We love this toothpaste at
our house! It's free of junk,
has a great minty taste, and
has xylitol, which helps
against gum disease. It
doesn't even contain sodium
lauryl sulfate. I started
having good dental checkups
for the first time ever when I
started using it. It also comes
in cinnamon flavor.

Isn't it amazing that some
dishwasher soaps still have
mercury and other toxins in
them? And they don't even
have to put it on the label.
This natural, safe dishwasher
soap is super easy to use,
gentle on the environment,
and works really well. You
just unwrap one of these
tablets (2 for heavy grime)
and drop it in the silverware
tray before washing

This is my favorite laundry
soap. I also love Seventh
Generation's hand
dishwashing liquid, glass and
surface cleaner and toilet
cleaner. Free and Natural
means no fragrance added
which is good for sensitive
people. The item at left is a
pack of six big bottles, by the
way. These can be found in
most health food stores.

Did you know that
antibacterial soaps contain
triclosan, a neurotoxin? This
extremely safe and natural
liquid soap is the only one we
use at our house. We use
peppermint for hands and
lavender in the showers. It
has wacky stuff written on
the bottle, which you can
ignore when you see how
great it works.

If the great one-ounce glass
multi measure we sell at
BrainChild isn't big enough
for your supplement dosing
needs, this four-ounce glass
one, marked with teaspoons,
ml and ounces can come in
very handy. I use them both
all the time, in my kitchen.

We love liquids, but some
things only come in powder
or pill form. With this easy
little capsule maker, you can
make your own capsules
with any dosage you want, or
combine supplements,
reducing the number of
capsules to give. Make sure to
buy vegetarian, not gelatin
capsules - much healthier for
you!

A simple, old fashioned, and
extremely useful part of my
little home apothecary.
Comes in handy when I need
to crush small numbers of
pills. For bigger pill crushing
jobs, I use an old cleaned-out
coffee grinder.

Set of 3 2-tsp oral syringes.
When my son was four, I
stopped trying to hide things
in his food, and started giving
supplements like medicine,
instead. I'd tell him they
would help him feel better,
and use an oral syringe. This
worked for us for over four
years, until he looked me in
the eye and told me clearly
that he wanted to drink them
from a cup. Victory!

If you mix supplements
together every day like we do,
you know that good tools
make all the difference. Here's
one of our favorite little
helpers -- it's a compact,
easy-to-wash, battery-
powered little stick mixer,
designed to mix coffee, and
works great for mixing
supplements in a cup!
