Formula Suggestion Flowchart (for Children)
This flowchart is made to assist parents in determining a starting formula for children. We do not yet
have a similar flowchart for adults. Adults, please give us a call at 831 465-0104, and we would be
happy to help you determine a good starting formula for yourself.

The most common question we hear is "which supplement should I start with?" Here are some
guidelines for determining which of our Spectrum Support formulas might be the most appropriate
starting place for your child. If you are still unsure after considering these questions, please give us a
call at 831 465-0104.
Explanation
A very small percentage of children on the spectrum are
so intolerant to the world that they react to literally
almost everything around them, including vitamins,
minerals, foods, chemicals and so on. For this
exceptionally sensitive 3-5%, our Ultra-Sensitive Formula
is a good starting choice. Over time, we find that they
may be able to tolerate the regular formulas.
Choose "yes" if your child shows more than two of the following:
Repetitive behaviors
Insistance on same routines
Intense odd interests
Self-stimulatory behaviors
Over or under-sensitivity of touch, smell, taste or hearing
Sleep problems
Walks on toes
Spins or likes spinning things
Lack of language or odd language
Doesn't 'get' nonverbal social cues
Difficulty understanding others
Choose "yes" if the child has ever had ANY of the following
on a regular basis:
Loose stools
Difficulty moving the bowels
Badly formed stools
Undigested material in stools
Abdominal discomfort
Abnormal digestive test results
Gut flora imbalance
Food allergies
Eczema
Special diet recommended by doctor
Start with
Spectrum
Support I and
work up to
Spectrum
Support II PAK
after 2-3
months if
desired.
Vitamin B6 (along with magnesium) is extremely helpful to
many spectrum issues. The reason for this question is to
help determine the optimal amount for each child. Taking
too much B6 can be associated with:
Excessive energy/activity levels
Agitation
Sleep disruptions
Start with
Spectrum
Support II PAK,
with trial after
2-3 months of
Spectrum
Support II
(P5P).
Start with Spectrum Support II
(P5P), and work up to Spectrum
Support III after 2-3 months if
desired.
